Cycle of Life

Withering, the sun sleeps for a day--
Just like my hands of cracking clay.
My eyes, drops of glass, rest;
My heart, still beating within my chest.

The river still runs through earth's creases--
Mountains still rise in disjointed pieces.
The sun still shines with the burden
of sustaining the existence of God's children.

Clouds continue forming and falling--
Birds still sing for their heart's true calling.
Air and water dwell as far as I can see,
Just so my life will be perfect for me.

What Must it Be Like?

What must it be like?
Free like a luminous firefly,
Prancing pretentiously among the perfumes of peace,
Shining in the fluorescent glow of sunshine,
Even at night!

What must it be like?
Crystal clear like a river,
Freely flowing around fish and fumbling fleas,
Smothered in the tranquility of water,
How joyful it must be?

What must it be like?
Protected like the valley,
Surrounded stupendously by majestic mountains,
Lush and green; life--bearing and giving,
Animals and flowers greeting you!

But most of all,
How wonderful it is to be human,
To think independently,
To have friends and family,
Music and love,
How blessed I am to be human.

Life's a Song

A single note is struck--
Unwavering, it stays suspended in mid-air.
Then it soars among sweeps of fields,
Carolling above the highest peaks,
Below the deepest trenches.
Flying through the thickest forests,
Overheard among the loudest clamor.
Flowing, growing, everknowing and showing knowledge.

It sings a well-earned solo,
Until it joins with every other note.
An exuberant choir can be heard
Easily among life's cycle screaming.
Chiming at a perfect beat,
The song invigorates and enlivens our souls--
For this choir is in perfect tune with our hearts.
